Recent Mix Media Project

I have been working on a little project with a stunning little MDF piece I have had for over 18 months from Candy Box Crafts. 

I have done a little video it's about 5 minutes long, I,m a Kundalini Reiki Master Teacher too. So the reason for the video going backwards is purposely done...

it will help relax your mind

Three Fames Made One....

Good morning crafters!

Welcome back to my blog...

 I hope you're all well today I,m sharing my latest DT project for Daisys...

Have to admit I was stuck at first with what to design, so I put all three frames together and made one... that shows that you can think out of the box and create something different.

Completed pictures below 
Final stage using the gold rust vieil.

 This stage cover with the dark brown of the collection, let it dry naturally and then use red rust effect with turquoise acrylic paint.

 Tissue paper adhered with PVA glue

 Completely cover with black gesso.

Sweet as Honey Bees Home in Mdf

Today I'm sharing my own mdf project using Heartfelt Creations sweet as Honey collection. Which was launched in the UK on Hochanda TV on the 31st May 2018 with demonstrator Nikki Wylde...

Heartfelt creations are known for paper card craft to most, moreover, I personally love to show others that mix media craft is a must with the red rubber stamps and dies that, truly work amazingly with mdf...

I have also used flowers from the backyard blooms collection from heartfelt.

Distress oxides...orange marmalade...green clover...red...picked raspberry and black onyx...

Completed project below

I used gold crackle paint and Nuvo Drops over the beehive to cover the honeycomb created

Using stamps and dies from backyard blossoms collections to the decorate the front of the beehive house.

I used the stamps on the paper then coloured for the inside of the beehive home...

Using the 12x12 paper collection I covered the mdf then varnished with clear one coat sealer. 

Orange iridescent acrylic paint over white gesso... To make the honeycomb inside and around the back , just die cut on acetate and used as a stencil to add texture using thick white texture paste. 

 I hope you have found some inspiration to use heartfelt on mix media with the red rubber stamps it's possible as they will endure such likes as texture cream paste, inks, paint, the list is endless ...

PUG IN A WATERING CAN... Weekly Project 13th June 2018

Good Morning, Welcome back to my blog...

Today I am sharing my latest DT project for Daisy's Jewels and Crafts the easiest for anyone to have a play with no need to glue together as it will come to you in one piece...

Fun for the children to do I know my grandchildren love to get in the craft room and play.

MDF watering can plaque.

Americana Paints: Mushroom and Turquoise, Blue in Satin and Orange Acrylic.

Stencil (bubbles).

MDF glue for Embellishments.

Strawberry fruit box and Powertex

Welcome back to my blog...

Today I'm sharing a project I made using a strawberry box... I needed something to store some of my pigment powders, what better than recycling.

Using the wall stencil with a pallet knife just take the texture paste and spread over the stencil to create the wall effect. Gently pull the stencil away and allow the dry.

Using a rubber mould for the skulls and hands, at this stage if you want the hands to hang over, add them to the wall carefully whilst wet, so they will dry and set.

I used air dry clay and in branded moulds.

Using Tim Holtz words adhere the words and skull along the side of the box, I decided to use an acrylic eye for one of the letters...

Adhere the mdf and Tim Holtz crypt cameos to both sides, this will all then be covered in black powertex. I prefer this method as its far more effective with dry brushing the pigment powder with the varnish... This, of course, allows your projects to go outside after three weeks...

Varnish by powertex which is great as within three weeks your product is waterproof using the dry brush technique
